Alaska airline boarding groups is designed to prioritize passengers in a logical order, starting with those who have the highest priority. By giving First Class passengers, elite Mileage Plan™ members, and those who purchase priority boarding access before general passengers, the airline is able to create a smoother boarding experience. Here's a breakdown of how each group is called:

Group 1: First Class travelers and elite Mileage Plan™ members, such as MVP, MVP Gold, and MVP Gold 75K, are the first to board. These customers typically pay for a premium experience or have earned it through loyalty to Alaska Airlines.

Group 2: Passengers who purchase Priority Boarding have the advantage of entering the aircraft immediately after elite members. This option is available for a small fee and gives passengers the benefit of avoiding the stress of long queues and securing overhead bin space early.

Group 3: This group consists of passengers seated in rows 1-5, usually in the front section of the main cabin. This helps ensure that passengers seated toward the front of the aircraft get on quickly, reducing the amount of time needed to pass through the aisles.

Group 4: Passengers seated in rows 6-15 are called next. By dividing general boarding into smaller sections, passengers can board more easily without overcrowding the aisle or struggling to find their seat.

Group 5: Pre-Boarding passengers are those who require special assistance, such as elderly passengers, travelers with disabilities, and parents with young children. These passengers are called first in the general boarding process, giving them extra time to get settled before the more crowded boarding groups.
