Political parties support urban Naxalites: Prime Minister Modi
Prime Minister Modi addresses the rising issue of urban Naxalism, highlighting the support from certain political parties. He also discusses the progress in combating Naxalism in rural areas, and India's economic growth prospects as it nears becoming the third-largest economy.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Modi made significant comments on Naxalism. He stated that while Naxalism in forests is gradually fading, unfortunately, it is spreading rapidly in urban areas and cities. He described this as a serious concern. Furthermore, he pointed out that some political parties are supporting urban Naxalites, which he termed as tragic.
Political parties supporting urban Naxalites
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the government's actions have made it possible to curb Naxalism. He mentioned that Naxalism, which once impacted 100 districts in the country, has now been reduced to only around two dozen districts. This success has been achieved due to the government’s measures at the grassroots level. While Naxalism is being eradicated from the forests, the urban Naxal network is rapidly expanding, he noted. Modi criticized urban Naxals for opposing Indian culture and the nation’s development. He also condemned political parties that previously opposed urban Naxals but are now supporting them.
India’s third-largest economy
Prime Minister Modi pointed out that new challenges are emerging due to urban Naxalism, which he claimed is putting India's development and heritage at risk. He also stated that ideological extremism is increasing among intellectual circles. He proudly declared that India is on the verge of becoming the third-largest economy in the world. Modi also accused the Congress Party of killing the aspirations of the people and said that people no longer expect anything from the party.
